Room For Doubts.
~ A 3 hours composition for electric guitar, objects & live processed field recordings.
Room for Doubts focuses on reflecting on the intersections and shared territories between visual arts and performing arts. Originally presented at Halle Nord in Geneva, Julie Monot proposes to reformulate and extend this proposition in a scenic context to explore its potential. For the sound composition of this 3-hour performance, I wanted to highlight the silences, breaths of the performers, as well as the tones of the scenic elements (ceramic sculptures, costume textures). This is to reveal sounds imperceptible to the audience, within the poetry of slowness established by Julie Monot. These recordings were made in the form of loops that overlapped, replaced, and transformed in real-time. The sound layers emanating from a guitar suspended on the theater grid and floating in space filled the atmosphere. Clear and precise notes played with a bow intertwined with feedback when the guitar danced in front of the amplifiers.
